How to play Scorpion Solitaire

Open Scorpion Solitaire, check the instructions and begin a round. Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Identify the playing area and the controls you need. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Seven columns; three stock cards dealt once to the first three columns. Free solo play, no wagering.

Try a deliberate move

After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Step by step

  1. Move a face-up card with its tail onto the next higher same-suit rank. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Read the example below alongside these instructions.

A useful example

The trailing cards may be unordered, but the destination suit and rank must match. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Read the matching step again.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Compare the situation with the worked example. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
